TWO MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT
TWO MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT

Theatre on the Ridge artistic director Carey Nicholson returns to the edgy contemporary comedy of Michael Ross Albert, whose satire “The Huns” was presented in the summer of 2020.

Jack and Tracy really need a vacation, but everything at their all-inclusive tropical getaway has been a disappointment. It’s rained the entire trip, their social media influence hasn’t translated to real revenue yet, and an inbound nuclear missile might be about to annihilate them and everyone nearby. With the world– and their relationship– on the brink of collapse, the bickering couple stares down oblivion together, confronting the illusions that kept them together, and finding hope for their future in the chaos of imminent destruction.

Running time is approximately 90 minutes, with no intermission.
Please note, this show contains mature content and language. Recommended for ages 12+.

PRETZEL LOGIC - A STEELY DAN REVUE 2025

PRETZEL LOGI

Experience the Premiere Tribute to the music of Steely Dan, featuring some of the best touring musicians in Canada today.

Steely Dan’s music is a captivating blend of jazz, rock, and pop, crafted with meticulous attention to detail. It’s no wonder that Steely Dan has been recognized for their technical precision and musical ingenuity with four Grammy Awards over the course of their career. Formed in the early 1970s by Donald Fagen and Walter Becker, the band’s sound is characterized by complex harmonies, intricate arrangements, and lyrical narratives that delve into the human condition. However, beyond just their musical prowess, Steely Dan’s lyrics often explore darker themes like in their hit song “Do It Again”, which delves into cyclical patterns of addiction and despair.

From the smooth grooves of “Rikki Don’t Lose That Number” to the haunting melancholy of “Deacon Blues,” Steely Dan’s catalog is a testament to their musical virtuosity and their ability to create songs that are both intellectually stimulating and emotionally resonant. Whether you’re a die-hard Steely Dan fan or just discovering their music, their songs are sure to leave a lasting impression. Don't miss out on this revue and tribute to one of the greatest musical groups in history.

UPCOMING DATES TO REMEMBER:

TUE JULY 1, 2025

CANADA DAY

Canada Day, formerly known as Dominion Day, is the national day of Canada. A federal statutory holiday, it celebrates the anniversary of Canadian Confederation which occurred on July 1, 1867, with the passing of the British North America Act, 1867, when the three separate colonies of the United Canadas, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick were united into a single dominion within the British Empire called Canada. Originally called Dominion Day, the holiday was renamed in 1982, the same year that the Canadian constitution was patriated by the Canada Act, 1982, which severed the vestiges of legal dependence on the Parliament of the United Kingdom. Canada Day celebrations take place throughout the country, as well as in various locations around the world attended by Canadians living abroad
